currently listening to fantasy album jay chou, impulse.

guess its because i just ordered for the pre-sale album and got my jay chou poster, and this new cd is named still fantasy, and i reckoned it means he’s tryin to go "back to basics" too. haha. and i really do hope so, coz fantasy style is really the ultimate jay style i like. and now, listening to "jian dan ai" still makes me feel like tearing, it has become conditioned behaviour.

and it was quite a bad day today.

me and marcius had a talk with sinyee and dan today. dont think im sharin the details here, but it was abt the screwin up of the cg phototakin and stuff like that. somehow, i was thinkin on my way home, mayb we’re too harsh with them, but yet half of me is screamin "OOI USE UR COMMON SENSE" leh. but everytime i hear marcius’ interrogating tone, i "diam". totally cant stand it. not against it, just cant stand it. though i can totally understand why he nearly lost it with them. come on people, solve the problems, solve the problems, solve the problems. ask ask ask. find out find out find out. consult consult consult.

and i didnt get to watch the break-up. although its a silly show im amused i want to watch

but kidsread made my day. doris was with us todae! hurray! and we played pictionary and read this book about grandpas. im beginning to know those in my grp and im a happy goober (as nurul puts it). wahahaha.

u know, i always have the urge to put a photo of young here, but i know ppl will think "aiyoh, the looks ta boleh lah, why u like this kind geeky nerdy type" de. so i shall refrain fr it. though he still rocks my world. and depp too. and balakrishnan too.

It’s rare to obtain such a first person account regardin international issues, but here’s one from the journal of gilad bernari, one of my favourite photographers. From israel:

Hello my friends,
You probably noticed I wasn’t around for a couple of weeks.
This doesn’t happen to me often, and if it does happen, I usually would alert you first.. Well, this time I couldn’t do that. I was called to join the war on a night call (04:00 AM if you must know), abd by 8:00 AM I was already in my drafting point ready to be shipped to the front.

So, sorry for disappearing like that.

Anyway,
There will time to tell you more about what I’ve been through (as much as I can say), but I just wanted to say hi, and that I’m thrilled to return, alive.
I lost some friends to the Hezbollah, and been through hell, and the "seize fire" that was called caught me right in time. Homesick for my family, friends, and you guys.

I took some pictures, of course, but non of the combat itself. It was hard enough keeping me and my friend’s safe, to carry my camera with me as well. That’s the advantage journalists have, being free from fighting tasks. I never realized how dangering it can be to mix the tasks you must do to survive, with the state of mind I need to do my photography.

Let me just add a silent wish for peace again.
I know how impossible it seems, when the enemy objective seems to be only to kill you (And the Israeli state), and so there can be no negotiations, but still, I believe, it is possible to create a balance where people can simply decide not to fight and focus on their own lives.

I’m sorry if some of your messages and comments from the recent weeks will not be answered, since I could never go through all the amount waiting for me.

I will still be missing for some time since I still have to return there for a short while, but it’s good to be back. Very good.

Kidsread second session today, but my first day back. wasnt around the first session due to leo dinner.

New volunteers, new kids. Anyway i had a hard time explaining what a kid(as in baby goat) is to a kid today. Shucks, im gonna say this again,im bad at names, for now names i can remember are: warren (because we sang him a bdae song todae) haslinda (did i get this correct?) laila (bingo!) ariff shide christina and i dunno le oh and one tehran(isnt this the capital of iran or isit? im quite a geographical idiot) and volunteers names: raf of coz haha, michel, cheryl, calesta, thats all

anyway, me and raf agreed that the prev way kidsread sesssions were handled were more fun, with the themes. now we have to follow the "syllabus" although they dont strictly restrict you to that. And it was so comical when raf kept worryin that she couldnt get pass the library’s "scanner" coz she had a book fr the book fair at the expo in her bag, and the scanner beep when she came in. haha. we were like "ok, one two three, go" then "eh, dont have leh’

speakin of the hungry ghost fest, the Straits Times had this really interesting segment in Life! about how they go about setting up the altar, the auction dinner and stuff like that. those stuff about the "dua ya pek" and "ji ya pek" and " hor hia di" was really infotainment stuff. didnt even know that you onli pay the next yr for your auction items, and i couldnt figure out why this is so.

been watching getais since i was young, although its been a long time since i caught one. was wondering why on earth did my mum and dad bring the 3 of us to the getais when we were still freakin young. like around k1 and k2. i guess that’s how i honed my dialect language skills, haha. and exposed to raunchy and dirty jokes at that age was like unimaginable. that’s why i say, parents, unleash your kids, and they’ll grow up to be like us the little doe-eyed innocent kid. haha. kids dont turn rebellious and rotten just becoz they are exposed to "F***king" "knnb" -filled dialogues and conversations. loosen up and get your kids to the nearest getai show now and enjoy! see, i still dont speak a word of vulgarity till now.

and i guess im one of the few who really know the getai A listers comperes like ah beng knows ah kow. Practically grew up watching people like liu ling ling, ah lam, ling li, and not to forget chen jin lang behave like crazy people on stage. And just to let you know, one of them, xu chiong fang just lives across the street. they’re part of the heartlanders and rare treasures in Sg. a bit worried its goin to be true that the getai is becumin a diminishing trade, just like how puppet shows and operas are now.

anyway, these few days, young hasnt been around. ah, i miss his voice. haha.

watched hard candy the other day and yep, one of the great movies this year too. " Was i born this fucking, vindictive little bitch, or did society made me this way?" asked Hayley. Wow. some thought-provocating stuff. heavy. mind- boggling. but i would nvr foget the scene where she was so bent on cuttin of his balls like " well, i found out that castration is one of the easiest surgery, they made it sound so difficult" cool candy sia.

national day coming soon. and so happy birthday S’pore! it always come so soon which means a year has passed again. awwww. was contemplating doin read and white manicure for toenails to get into the mood (funny stuff i do) but well ran out of white nail polish. so now it’s quirky green and red. haha.
